AA in talks to buy struggling BSM
The British School of Motoring, the UK's largest driving school, is on the verge of being sold again for a undisclosed amount this weekend.
The AA is understood to be in detailed talks to buy the business, which has struggled following a £10m management buyout in November 2009.
Ambitious plans to expand the 3,000 pool of instructors are understood to have faltered and the AA is looking to rescue what one source called a 'great British brand'.
There are currently, about 45,000 driving instructors in Britain with BSM thought to have just 2,100 instructors, with AA having fewer than 2,000.
